Kona Rider Andrew Bell writes in his review of the 2012 Kona Dirty Weekend that "the trails make this event a must do for every mountain biker in Oz. I would describe them a mix of Majura Pines on steroids and some of Mt Stromlo's best bits put into a fun flowing 12km of smiles." But while most mountain bike events are all about your sprint skills and being the first across the line, Bike SA'S Kona Dirty Weekend mountain bike challenge is designed to have you, your support crew and spectators enjoying themselves as you put your stubbornness to the test and grind out lap after lap, beyond what you thought you could achieve. In 2011 and 2012, Bike SA welcomed the involvement of the newly formed South Australian Mountain Biking Association (SAMBA), and they'll be back again as the track gurus for the 2013 Kona Dirty Weekend. "Amazing atmosphere, loved the night laps and the lights of adelaide and the serenity of some sections of trail contrasting with the cool musical beats of the village. I may have over administered slightly on the red bull but it was great while I was riding. It would have been great if their were more younger folk riding. The atmosphere was so much fun and that would have made it even better for us." Phoebe, 16 CLICK HERE FOR THE 2012 FINAL RESULTS
