rowdy replied to the topic Re: Prospect Hill in the forums.Last Sunday war was declared on Blackberrys, for the time being we have won.
The blackberrys along the Fairy Forest have been hacked back, so anyone riding down in there will considerably less scratched up on the arms and legs. A big thank you to Hugh for sweating it out for 3 hours.
See you next month.

rowdy replied to the topic Re: Prospect Hill in the forums.Reminder that the first work day for the year at Prospect Hill is Sunday 19.2. See previous post of the other dates, if there is enough interest for a particular Saturday instead, if that suits people more let me know.
We'll meet at 9am at the Christmas Hill carpark. You need sturdy foot wear, long trousers, hat and some water. We can do 2-3 hours of trimming any greenery that has grown over the trails. If you have a favorite cutting device might pay to bring it.
see you there.

rowdy replied to the topic Re: Prospect Hill in the forums. It's a brand new year and there's lots of stuff to do.
For those who gave there time last year and those that want to come and give a hand and learn a bit about what it takes to build and maintain trails, below are the dates (at this stage) for the trail care days. We might slot additional days in if there enough interest.
Sunday Feb 19
Sunday March 18
Sunday April 8 and April 29
Sunday May 27
Sunday June 24
Sunday July 29
Sunday August 26
Sunday Sept 30
Sunday Oct 28
Sunday Nov 25
Recently there has been a meeting with the rangers to look at what is possible as far as developing new trails and maintaining the existing.
Being that the ground is so hard at the moment, some trimming of the greenery along the Fairy Forest should be one of the first jobs and surveying a section of new trail. We have to follow due process for new stuff, so it will take a while before we are shredding virgin trails, but the response has been very positive.
Hope to see you there

Pete replied to the topic Re: Upcoming trail work in the forums.Hi Folks, This Saturday is still on for any who wish to join us for Zone 2 trail maintenance in Lynton/ Sleeps Reserve.
We will be meeting at the Beagle Terrace entrance at 9:00. The forecast is looking warm 33dgr so we will make a call on the day what time we work through till.
The plan is to spend some time clearing the corridor on Quarry Loop, and a bit of tweeking to the Blue Sleeps Hill Link trail. As the soil is so dry at this time of year we are limited to what work can be achieved successfully.
Please let me know if your able to attend so as I can get enough food etc.
Ahhh what better way to spend the Australia Day long weekend than contributing the local trail network. It will be good to see you there
Cheers Justin
